“Quantum of Solace” is bagging the top spot in box offices worldwide. It seems that people are really liking Daniel Craig and the new grittier Bond!
The film first broke box office opening day records at the UK making £4.9 million alone that day and bagging a total of £15.5 for the whole debut weekend early this month. Sweden and France also added to the sweet take with a total debut weekend sales of £14.2 million.
In the US alone it raked in $70.4 million during its opening weekend, a record for Bond movies wherein the previous record was held by “Die Another Day” for an opening weekend of $47.7 million.
In Ireland, the film is leaving all the other movies that are showing in the dust even on its 3rd week with a whopping€431,000 on the 3rd weekend and and a total 3-week run of €3,623,000. It looks like its also set to beat 007 records in this country, which is set by “Casino Royale” for bagging a total of €4m.
